Principle of Operation

The sensor assembly is fixed to the rope with a rope clip, and integrates a float that moves up and down with the liquid level. 
The float incorporates a magnet, and the stem a reed switch. The switch opens or closes its contacts as the float moves on the stem with the liquid level.
